This trend may be due to the price of the item receiving service. On average a car costs more than a motorcycle and a motorcycle costs more than an ATV. If you work on something that comes with a higher price tag you can expect to charge more.

Let’s look at the salaries in Texas, specifically Austin. Motorcycle repair, auto repair and ATV repair are all relevant in Austin. ATV technicians hit the average per year at $28,000. No more, no less. The national average is what you can expect to make. However, motorcycle mechanics take a hit in Austin. Their average pay in only $26,000 a year. It is $4,000 less than the national average and less than even an ATV technician will expect to make.
The only one to make out better is an automotive technician. These technicians can expect to make $42,000 a year on average. This is well over the national average. Anyone in this field might consider moving to Austin for a pay raise.
Getting dirty can be fun, especially when you get paid to do it. Mechanics have a dirty job every day they walk in the shop, but now you know what to expect if you are in the field. This job is not for everyone, but for those who enjoy the work, it can take care of you well. Not a lot of education is required for any of these jobs, but experience is your key.
